Promise of the Day: Work It Out

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Philippians 2:13 NKJV:

“For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”

Devotion:

I often write  about how we tend to emulate the people we spend the most time with. There’s a reason I do this. The number one reason Christians get discouraged or disillusioned is because, though they have accepted salvation through Christ, they don’t realize they should, or simply refuse to cultivate a relationship with the Christ who died for them. Then they wonder why they keep making the same wrong choices again and again. The truth is, they haven’t spent enough time with God to have Him rub off on them.

As we seek God with the intention of knowing Him, He infuses our spirits with His Spirit, our minds with His mind. And soon the choices we face from day to day are no longer choices because we are taking on the very mind of Christ. It’s not about losing our own identity, but finding our true identity, bringing us into unity with the Father, and ultimately one another. When this happens, no power on earth will be able to stop us bringing the Kingdom of God to earth!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, please draw near to me as I draw near to You. Help me to surrender my will to You in Jesus’ name, and to know that You didn’t make me who I am in order to erase me, but that You are making me something beautiful. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
