Blessings Friends,
Jeremiah 33:3:
“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”
What an invitation!
The question is, are you ready to know great and mighty things?
My prayer for a deeper relationship with Christ has yielded some interesting results. Sunday evening, our church had a guest pastor who gave me a word of knowledge that confirmed what I have been feeling for some time.
Namely, that major changes are coming in my life. He said God wants me to know He is in control of everything I’m going through right now. He’s putting things in place for the change. That gave me so much peace.
Days before that, I was in a Christian book store looking for a book for my son, when another book just about jumped off the shelf at me. It’s called Fasting, by Jentezen Franklin. Needless to say I have been pretty engrossed in this book. It has given me a whole new perspective on fasting as it relates to nearness to God.
2 Chronicles 7:14:
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
You can’t get much more humble than denying one of your basic needs. All through the Bible, God has moved powerfully for those who fasted and prayed with a right spirit.
Though fasting has been a part of my life, I understand it better now, and have a whole new focus.
Then, the other day I was doing some research, again for someone else, when I discovered Bruce D. Allen and Still Waters International Ministries.
He has an amazing testimony to the church in the end times (that’s us) and has written a few books on the subject, which I can’t wait to read. I was blown away by the interviews on his website. I encourage you to check it out.
I’m very excited…and a little anxious about the next leg of my journey. I know growth involves some pain. But, I’ve reached a point where I just can’t stand still—and I certainly don’t intend to go backward!
And, to think, it all started with a tumor in my backside…I guess that was God’s way of telling me to get off it!
December 1, I laid it all at His feet, and, God willing, I’ll begin ministry classes this month.
What better time to commit everything to God than the month we celebrate His perfect gift to us. HIS everything.
No, I couldn’t wait for New Years.
I was strongly impressed to do it now, so I looked it up, and it seems December is the ninth month of the Jewish calendar (Chisleu) when the Feast of Dedication takes place. December 25th, to be exact.
Coincidence? I think not.
Please keep me in your prayers as I diligently seek God’s will for my life and His intervention in yours.
God’s grace and peace be yours,
Rebecca
