Today’s Promise is John 17:8 CJB:
“Because the words you gave me I have given to them, and they have received them. They have really come to know that I came from you, and they have come to trust that you sent me.”
Devotion:
Many people are saying many things today in “the name of the Lord.” It is vital that we not judge what we hear according to our feelings or experience. We are commanded to “test the spirits, whether they are of God.” Sometimes false spirits will say something that sounds so right according to our knowledge, but is so wrong. And sometimes the Holy Spirit will say something that seems outrageous to us, but is so right. How can we know the difference? By knowing God. By knowing His Word, talking to Him and listening to Him. Ask Him and He will tell you the truth. But you must be willing to receive the truth. Are you willing?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You said Your Spirit would lead us unto all truth. Grant me a spirit of discernment, in Jesus’ name, to know Your voice from all others, and a spirit of faith to abide by it. Amen.
