Today’s Promise is John 1:12 NKJV:
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”
Devotion:
This is great news to those of us who grew up without one or both parents. Even if you grew up with both parents, no father on earth could come close to God in His love or mercy, and that is what every human being craves. But to receive Jesus means to receive Him in His entirety. Not just the parts we like or are comfortable with, but all of Him. For, you see, that is how He receives us!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me enough to call me Your child. I know I don’t understand everything about You or why You do what You do. But please don’t let that hinder me from believing and trusting in You. You have said You have plans to prosper me, to give me hope and a future. You said all things work for my good. I choose to believe that, in Jesus’ name. I choose to let that be enough. Amen.
