Promise of the Day: Walk the Walk

Walk the Walk

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is James 1:22-25 NKJV:

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”

Walk the Walk

Devotion:

Reading and memorizing scripture is vital to spiritual growth and fulfilling our destiny in Christ. But merely knowing what the Word says is not enough. If we are to effectively impact the world as we are meant to, the Word must move from our heads, deep into our hearts, becoming an expression of life in our own words and actions, like a tree drawing nutrients into its roots and bearing fruit. This is the work of the Holy Spirit on a surrendered heart. It requires not only consistency, but humility, knowing that God alone is our source of life and renewal. What do people see when they look at you? Someone who knows a lot about the Bible, but whose branches are dried and withered? Or a green, thriving tree of life, giving fruit in its season?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Giver of Life, I submit to You, today. Let Your Spirit take Your Word and weave it deep into my DNA, in Jesus’ name, creating in me a new heart and renewing a right spirit in me. Thank You for Your gift of new life. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
