Promise of the Day: Always Enough

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Hebrews 13:5 CJB:

“Keep your lives free from the love of money; and be satisfied with what you have; for God himself has said, ‘I will never fail you or abandon you.'”

Devotion:

It’s true that through the ages wealth has always equated to power. But, in truth, when the spirit of mammon is your god, it is not you who are in control. The spirit of mammon demands your full attention and utter obedience, enlisting the spirits of fear, pride, insecurity, greed, and any other unclean spirits it can use to maintain your attention and obedience. And this spirit isn’t selective. If you are wealthy, it will convince you that you need more. If you are poor, it will convince you to hang on to everything you have because you may lose it all. In both instances, giving to others will be difficult, if not impossible. This is how this spirit robs you of your inheritance, because God’s Word tells us that whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly (2 Cor. 9:6).

We don’t have to worry about this when we serve God, because all the money in the world belongs to Him. When we have the Lord, we have all we need.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, You are a generous, loving God, and everything in Heaven and in earth belongs to You. I rebuke and renounce any spirit of mammon in me, in the name of Jesus Christ, and I choose this day to serve You alone. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
