Today’s Promise is Romans 15:5-7 CBJ:
“And may God, the source of encouragement and patience, give you the same attitude among yourselves as the Messiah Yeshua had, so that with one accord and with one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. So welcome each other, just as the Messiah has welcomed you into God’s glory.”
Devotion:
This is not the cultish like-mindedness driven by the need to belong, but the mind of Christ poured out into surrendered lives. The work of the Spirit of Truth, not erasing our individuality, but perfecting it in Him. That we might all see one another as Jesus sees us. Loved and valued above His own life. God’s love and grace are the glue that binds the Body of Christ together. It gives us one mind–His mind, and one voice–His voice, and when we are one with Him, we will move in His power, and all the world will see God’s glory through us.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to surrender completely to the sanctifying power of Your Spirit, in Jesus’ name, that I may not be the reason unity in the Church is delayed. Make us one, Lord, even as You are One, that Your purpose may be achieved in us. Amen.
