Blessings!
Today’s Promise is 1 Thessalonians 5:23 NIV:
“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Devotion:
Sanctification is not something we can do to ourselves by following certain rules and traditions. Only God can make us holy because only He is holy. It is a process by which we are tested and tried, giving us opportunities to surrender our will to God. Do we learn to hear and trust the Holy Spirit, or trust in what we see and hear? It comes even when we mess up, and the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin. Do we repent, or do we hold on to our pride? The more we make the right choices, the more we mature in Christ. But even in this, it is by the work of the Holy Spirit in us, giving us the grace, strength, and courage to humble ourselves before God. Only by surrendering to the Holy Spirit and His process of sanctification, can we be kept blameless, spirit, soul, and body until the coming of our Lord.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You know how difficult it is to live in this world because Your Son did it. He walked the road before us and showed us the way to holiness. I want to be holy, Lord. Thank You for giving me Your Son as an example, and Your Spirit as my helper. And, thank You for Your patience with me as I learn. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
Rebecca
