Today’s Promise is Psalm: 140:13 NKJV:
“Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; The upright shall dwell in Your presence.”
Devotion:
The trend in Christian culture today is all about grace. But it’s not so much an emphasis as a distortion. Many preach from the pulpit that sin is now accepted by God because of grace. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes, our sins are covered by the blood of Christ, but being forgiven doesn’t make us upright. This verse tells us which one of these will dwell in God’s presence. It is Jesus’ blood that looses the yoke of sin and allows us to walk uprightly. It is His Spirit who empowers us to obey His commands and continue in His righteousness. It is the combination of these, activated by faith, that enables us to ascend into Heaven and to carry God’s glory on earth, that wherever He is, there we may be also. I want to be where Jesus is, don’t you?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Cross. Thank You for Your awesome love that saved me. Fill me with Your Spirit, Lord, in Jesus’ name, that I may see You and hear You. Help me to walk uprightly before you, Lord, that I may dwell forever in Your presence. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
