Promise of the Day: Chosen to Dwell

The Secret Place

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Psalm 65:4 NKJV:

Blessed is the man You choose,
And cause to approach You,
That he may dwell in Your courts.
We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house,
Of Your holy temple.”

Devotion:

It’s one thing to accept salvation. It’s quite another to dwell in God’s courts. David could speak of this firsthand, because he lived it, and Jesus has opened the heavens to us as well. Jesus said, “Many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matt. 22:14) Why? Because, while salvation is free through Christ, spiritual maturity comes at a cost. And, like the rich young ruler in Matthew 19, so many are just not willing to pay the price. How about you? What price are  you willing to pay to approach the throne of God, and dwell in His courts?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I know You have called me, and I want to be chosen. I love You, Lord, but that just isn’t enough anymore. I want to know You. I want to dwell in Your courts. Put Your fire in my heart, in Jesus’ name, that I might pursue You above all else. Set Your face before me, and Your name on my tongue always, that my desire for You only grows. Help me to say, I must have more of You, Lord–no matter what it costs! Amen!

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
