Promise of the Day: The Gift of Peace

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Ephesians 2:17 NKJV:

“And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.”

Devotion:

The word “preached” here means to bring good news. Jesus came to let us know that whether we have been Christians all our lives or have not yet come to know Him, peace can be ours because of what He has done for us. We no longer have to be at war with God, for Jesus covered our sins and reconciled us with our Father. We no longer have to be at war with ourselves because He has given us authority over the enemy and we no longer have to be slaves to sin. And we no longer have to be at war with one another because He has given us His love with which to love one another. He has made us one in Him. True peace is ours for the asking–and the giving. And unlike some gifts, the more you give, the more you receive.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your peace. Help me, in Jesus’ name, to receive it fully and give it abundantly. Help me to spread Your good news, that others might be free from the bondage of fear, anger, unforgiveness, strife, and all other things that rob them of the joy, love, and peace You came to give them.  Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!

Rebecca
