Promise of the Day: Name Droppers

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is John 14:14 NKJV:

“If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Devotion:

Do you know a name-dropper? Someone who claims to know a famous or powerful person because they once shook his or her hand at some event? Or maybe they just spotted them in line at the coffee shop? If someone like this were to call this powerful person and ask a favor of them, what kind of response do you think they would get?

Jesus made this promise to men who had left their homes, families, and careers to follow Him. These men walked, talked, ate, and slept at Jesus’ side day and night. They weren’t just acquaintances of Jesus, they were his intimate friends. That’s what Jesus wants with you. Will He know you when you call on Him?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I believe You saved me. But I want to know You. Not just as a distant Savior, but as my Father, walking at Your side and hearing Your voice. Help me draw near to You, Lord, in Jesus’ name. Not because of what You can do for me, but because of who You are. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
