Today’s Promise is Colossians 1:5, 6 (CJB):
“Both (trust in Messiah and love for God’s people) spring from the confident hope that you will receive what is stored up for you in heaven. You heard of this earlier in the message about the truth. This Good News has made its presence felt among you, just as it is also being fruitful and multiplying throughout the world in the same way as it has among you since the day you heard and understood the grace of God as it really is.“
Devotion:
Everything we need to bear good fruit is stored up for us in Heaven like a treasure. Hearing the Gospel of Salvation opens our understanding of this, but it is our daily seeking that treasure, pressing in to the Lord, listening to the Holy Spirit, and digging into God’s Word that enables us to know it as it really is and obtain it here and now. There is a never-ending supply of love, faith, power, and more waiting to help you grow the fruit of the Spirit, so keep on asking, seeking, knocking–and digging.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are the Giver of all good things. Thank You for making all these things available to me. Please, help me to make seeking out Your treasure a burning desire in my heart, in Jesus’ name, that I might lack nothing. That I might become all that You created me to be. Amen!
