Promise of the Day: Eyes of Grace

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is 1 John 3:22 NKJV:

“And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”

Devotion:

So many Christians deny themselves this powerful promise. John talks specifically in this chapter about intentional love for one another. Not treating others according to our emotions, but according to the grace that was afforded us through Christ Jesus. If we are not receiving what we are asking our Father for, the first thing we must ask ourselves is, “Am I responding to the needs of others, or the injuries inflicted on me by others as Jesus did, with patience, love, and forgiveness? Or does my pride mean more to me than answered prayers?”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, You are so gracious and good to me. I want nothing more than to be closer to You, but I know I can’t have both You and my pride. Please, grant me the grace to lay down my pride and choose You every time I am faced with the choice. Purify my heart, that I might be a holy vessel to carry Your presence, and be glorified in me, Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
