Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Genesis 12:2, 3 NKJV:
“I will make of you a great nation, I will bless you, and I will make your name great; and you are to be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, but I will curse anyone who curses you; and by you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”
Devotion:
Do you realize what a powerful promise this is? Most people would say, “This was just for Abraham,” and leave it at that. But in reality, a man is not just a man, but the sum of all his descendants. Thus, anyone belonging to the line of Abraham, whether born or grafted in, is included in this promise. That’s you! Imagine! You don’t have to worry about being justified when someone curses you, or about getting revenge. Your Father has your back. You are free to bless those who curse you and let God take care of the details. And in blessing others, your Father is faithful to fulfill those blessings and pour His abundance out on you as well! It is a wonderful thing to be the child of a Father who is so generous with His blessings. We don’t have to earn an allowance. We simply have to speak the words that bless others, whether they hear them or not, and our Father will open His wallet–gladly. Let us be more than generous with the blessings the Lord has stored up for us and others and let Him make us a blessing.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are so good, and so generous with your mercy, grace, and blessings. Fill me with Your Spirit of abundance, in Jesus’ name, that I may focus on blessing those around me, even when they curse me. For You are a God of blessing, and I long to be more like You. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
