Promise of the Day: Fearless!

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV:

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Devotion:

So … if God has not given us a spirit of fear … where does it come from? I mean, think about it. Fear was not in our original make-up when God formed Adam from the dust of the ground and breathed the breath of life into him. Fear came into the world with sin. We have been taught that fear is necessary for self-preservation. While this may be true in a worldly sense, we who are born of God are no longer of the world. When we forsake the world, fixing our eyes on what is unseen, our all-powerful God is faithful to take care of our well-being, both spiritually and physically. Walking in this truth takes practice and diligence, but it is what Jesus died to give us, and it is what we are called to. As we seek Him, the Holy Spirit will turn our focus from the “realities” of the world to the Truth of God, and we will walk in power, love, and a sound mind. This is Jesus’ reality, for He has overcome the world!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I repent of my fear, unbelief, and sloth in pursuing Your Kingdom, in Jesus’ name. Both for myself and for my ancestors who may have brought about this generational curse. In the name of Jesus Christ, I rebuke the spirit of fear, off of myself and my family. Lord, please take my fear and replace it with a passion and discipline to seek You, that I might walk in Your power, love, and sound mind. Thank You for making this possible for me. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
