Blessings!
Today’s Promise is 1 Corinthians 1:27 NKJV:
“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.”
Devotion:
Have you ever wondered how God could use you to make a difference in His Kingdom? I have. But, fortunately for us, God isn’t like the team champion in school, picking the strongest and fastest first for His team. Or the event coordinator choosing the best selling authors or the people with the most followers for His conference. If you look back in the Word, you’ll see that God chose the least significant people in society, a murderer with a speech impediment, a coward hiding in a winepress, a multiply divorced adulteress . . . to do some of the greatest things in history.
I, myself, was at my lowest point, bedridden and fighting cancer, when God called me to found this ministry. I don’t consider myself on par with Moses, or Gideon, or even the woman at the well, but even when I was at my best, I never imagined that God could use me to encourage people all around the world with His Word and testimony. I was looking at what the world calls strength and wisdom, and I didn’t measure up. In reality, for we who believe, God is the only strength and wisdom we need. When we surrender to Him, great things happen, and the strength and wisdom of the world will be put to shame.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You don’t ask me to become great, so that You can use me. You ask me to become as a little child, that Your power, wisdom, and glory may work through me. Lord, I surrender to You completely, in Jesus’ name. I know I am weak and far from wise, but You see me as so much more. Because You live within me, giving me all I need to reveal Your glory to the world. Be glorified in me, Lord. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
