Today’s Promise is Proverbs 11:17 CJB:
“A man who is kind does himself good, but the cruel does harm to himself.”
Devotion:
One of the biggest and most powerful lies of the enemy is that we are entitled to withhold forgiveness and mercy from those who hurt us. As if doing so benefits us in some way. This lie is so powerful because, not only does it destroy our health, shortening our lives, but more importantly, it keeps us from receiving God’s forgiveness, robbing us of eternity in the presence of God. The only one who wins the game of unforgiveness, is Satan. Don’t give him the victory. God has more than enough grace to give us, that we can share with others.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You have said that if I forgive anyone, they are forgiven. Help me to be joyful in the knowledge that my forgiveness can bring others closer to knowing You and living with You forever. Help me to be more eager to be righteous than to be right, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
