Promise of the Day: Free and Eager

The Big Picture

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Titus 2:14 CJB:

“He [Jesus Christ]  gave himself up on our behalf in order to free us from all violation of Torah and purify for himself a people who would be his own, eager to do good.”

Devotion:

Eager to do good. We don’t deserve to enjoy God’s presence or blessing. There isn’t one person on earth who doesn’t deserve to be cast out into eternal darkness. But Jesus wouldn’t have it. He stepped in and took the punishment we deserve, because He loves us. For the life of me, I can’t fathom it, because we certainly don’t deserve His love, either. But that is what love is. And that is what love does. That fact alone is what humbles me to my core and makes me so grateful to Him, that I will do anything to express my gratitude. That is what makes me eager to do good. How about you?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, You could have easily given up on me, but You didn’t. I don’t know why you love me like you do, but I’m so glad You do. Thank You for Your Son, and for Your Holy Spirit, living in me and making me eager to do good, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
