Today’s Promise is Luke 11:13 NKJV:
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
Devotion:
Who doesn’t love giving their children gifts? Our Heavenly Father is no different. The Holy Spirit is one gift we can’t live without! Especially in today’s world. We receive the person of the Holy Spirit when we repent and invite Him into our hearts. But this promise refers to the gifts the Spirit bestows. Gifts that enable us to walk in the supernatural power of the risen Christ, healing the sick, raising the dead, prophesying, and casting out demons. The gifts of the Spirit are vital to our spiritual growth as well as establishing God’s Kingdom on earth. And, the more of ourselves we give up, the more gifts we can carry. Ask, and you shall receive!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please, fill me with Your Spirit, in Jesus’ name, and help me to surrender to You completely, that I may be filled with all Your fulness. Help me to become all that You created me to be, that You may be glorified in me. Amen.
