Today’s Promise is 2 Corinthians 10:17, 18 NKJV:
“But ‘he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.’ For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.”
Devotion:
In today’s world of “top tens” and “best sellers” and “going viral” it’s easy to be led to believe that we are either more important than we really are, or that we are of no significance at all. God is not interested in popular opinion. His purpose for each of us is as individualized as our fingerprints. Our success in His Kingdom cannot be measured by worldly standards, nor can it be accomplished by our own effort. In the end, we stand before Him alone, and all that remains is the question, “Did you do what I created you to do?”
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please help me to not compare myself to others. Help me instead to focus on Your voice and direction, and trust in You to accomplish Your will for my life, in Jesus’ name, that when I stand before You, I can hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Amen.
