Today’s Promise is Psalm 27:10 NKJV:
“When my father and my mother forsake me,
Then the Lord will take care of me.”
Devotion:
I never knew my earthly father. He abandoned me before I was born. And my relationship with my mother was anything but loving. But, though my start in life was rocky, I can honestly say that I can’t remember a time when I didn’t feel God’s presence in my life, and experience His supernatural interventions. There are no orphans in God’s Kingdom. It’s not uncommon for the children of God to be ostracized, even by family. But, if every person on earth were to turn their back on you, you would still have your Heavenly Father, your King and Savior, your Great Counselor and Comforter, and all the hosts of Heaven by your side! Oh, yeah, and you would still have me.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I call you Father because that is what You are. When all others abandon me, You are there, holding me in Your arms, comforting me with Your Spirit. Father, open the heavens, in Jesus’ name, that I may hear You and see You. Draw me close to You, and let me abide in You always. Thank You for being my good Father. Amen.
