Today’s Promise is Isaiah 28:9 CJB:
“Can no one be taught anything?
Can no one understand the message?
Must one teach barely weaned toddlers,
babies just taken from the breast?”
Devotion:
God longs to impart His knowledge and wisdom to His children, but “the deep things of God” are not for the immature spirit. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 tells us that God reveals His wisdom through the Holy Spirit, and we should not allow fear or arrogance to keep us as nursing babes. Be a humble student, receiving correction and instruction with thanksgiving. Then be bold as you approach the Throne of God, seeking not just His Salvation, but His very heart. He wants to give it to you.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, forgive my fear and arrogance, in Jesus’ name. I know there is much more to You than any man knows, and I want to possess You! I submit to You completely, and I trust You, Lord, to give me discernment, and to make me know Your voice. Help me to grow in the knowledge of You. Amen!
