Promise of the Day: Higher Education

A Servant's Heart

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Isaiah 50:4 NKJV:

“The Lord GOD has given Me
The tongue of the learned,
That I should know how to speak
A word in season to him who is weary.
He awakens Me morning by morning,
He awakens My ear
To hear as the learned.”

Higher Education

Devotion:

When the Lord first called me to ministry, my first thought was, who would listen to me? I’ve never been to Bible college. I don’t have a degree in theology, or a certificate of ordination. Forgetting all the Lord had taught me on my cancer bed, I promptly found a Bible college and enrolled in my first class. Shortly afterward, God called me to a season of prayer, which I thought was great–at first. His words to me were, “You are no longer to learn the traditions of man. From now on, you will learn at my feet alone.” So much for Bible college. So began my long, lonely journey up the mountain, learning to lean not on men’s interpretations of God’s revelation, but on God, himself.

It has taken years to develop this discipline, but, in spite of the disbelief and offense of some people, God has grown this ministry through my obedience and touched many lives. When people ask me for prayer and healing, I know beyond a doubt that I will hear God’s voice in my ear, revealing the hidden things, telling me what to pray and giving me His Words to speak. He is never wrong. God isn’t looking for educational degrees or the approval of man to do His work. All He needs is a willing and obedient heart. With that, He can change the world.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Holy Spirit, living in me. Thank You for giving me ears to hear and words to speak. Grant me the faith, in Jesus’ name, to hear You more and to speak Your Words of life and restoration into a broken world, that You may be glorified. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
