Today’s Promise is Psalm 37:23 NKJV:
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD,
And He delights in his way.”
Devotion:
Delighting yourself in the Lord doesn’t guarantee a problem-free life. If anything, it will make you a bigger target for the enemy, as he works all the harder to bring you down. But that is just why the Lord delights in the way of those whose hearts are set on Him. Each trial we face is another opportunity for us to witness the power and faithfulness of our Father, as we set our eyes on Him and allow Him to deal with our enemy. Like a dad defending his child against the schoolyard bully. What father doesn’t love to see his child gaze upon him in wide-eyed wonder? To be his child’s hero?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, things may not always be easy in this world, but I know, if I keep my eyes on You, I will never go wrong, and my enemies will never prevail against me. Thank You for being my faithful Father. Amen.
