Today’s Promise is Proverbs 11:20 NKJV:
“Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the Lord,
But the blameless in their ways are His delight.”
Devotion:
In this culture of shaming, fear mongering, and political correctness, it’s getting more difficult to find people whose motives are pure. People who are genuinely kind and do good for the sake of doing good, not because they are afraid of offending someone or hoping to gain in some way. People like the latter have always existed, but the children of God should never be numbered among them. The Gospel of Salvation is very simple and clear, but it does not follow the world’s ideals. Nonetheless, it stands as the one and only path to eternal life, and cannot be deviated from. God loves a pure heart. Especially where His Word is concerned. He will not abide those who use it as a means of gaining power or wealth, and He certainly will not abide those who pervert His Truth, regardless of their motives. Let us keep our eyes on Jesus, beloved, teaching His Truth in power and love, that we may be our Father’s delight.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Spirit, living inside me, helping me remain pure in my motives and grounded in Your Truth. Help me to always put Your will before my own, in Jesus’ name, that I might glorify You, and You might delight in me. Amen.
