Promise of the Day: It’s All About Grace

Living Letters

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Romans 3:24 CJB:

“By God’s grace, without earning it, all are granted the status of being considered righteous before him, through the act redeeming us from our enslavement to sin that was accomplished by the Messiah Yeshua.”

Living Letters

Devotion:

Paul speaks in the previous verses of how the only power the Law (Torah) had was to show us how sinful we are. But the penalty of sin is death, and since it was the sin of man that condemned us, so must it be the death of man that redeems us. But not just any death. The blood that was shed had to be without sin, and the only One who could fulfill that requirement was the Son of God himself. We could never be redeemed by following rules and rituals before Christ paid our debt. And, try as we might, we can’t be redeemed now, save for the blood of the Lamb. And the blood that was shed for me was shed for everyone.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, let me never think myself higher or better than anyone else. Your redemption was a gift that I could never repay, and I pray that I will always be conscious of that fact and be humbled before You and all the others You extend that gift to, in Jesus’ name, that they may be eager to claim it for their own. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
