Today’s Promise is 2 Timothy 4:8 CJB:
“All that awaits me now is the crown of righteousness which the Lord, “the Righteous Judge,” will award to me on that Day — and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for him to appear.”
Devotion:
I’ve actually seen my crown on one of my visits to the Throne Room of God, and let me tell you, it was pretty impressive! The weighty gold, the great rubies and emeralds . . . but, you know, the crown paled in comparison to the sheer glory of being in the presence of the King. In fact, those of us standing in line to enter His presence, first had to remove our crowns and leave them outside the Throne Room. The truth is, no reward is or can be greater than to live forever in the presence of God’s eternal love and holiness. As those longing for Him to appear, we should be thrilled at the prospect of taking as many people with us as we possibly can.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I long for the return of my Lord and Savior. And, spending an eternity with You is all the reward I need. Help me to reach others for Your Kingdom, Lord, in Jesus’ name, that they, too, may know the sheer pleasure of Your company. Amen.
