Promise of the Day: O My Soul!

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Psalm 103:1-3 NKJV:

“Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:

Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases.”

Devotion:

Even as I write this promise, my body is wracked with pain. Some may say, “I thought God heals all your diseases! If that’s true, why are you still suffering?” But the thing is, the previous Psalm is the plea for mercy from a distraught and hurting soul. This Psalm is the response to his pleas. This isn’t a witness of what has been experienced, but a declaration of who it is that David was crying out to. This was the Lord, reassuring David that He was still God and still all-powerful. That, as He had done in the past, so will He continue. It was David’s choice to trust not in his circumstances in the moment, but in the Almighty God, that made him a man after God’s own heart. I want that relationship with God, too. So, like David, I will bless the Lord! I believe that, no matter what pain I’m experiencing this moment, God forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. And that knowledge fills me with unspeakable joy!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank You and praise You for the pain! I know You love me, and are working ALL things together for good, because I love You and I am the called according to Your purpose. Have Your way in me, Father, in Jesus’ name, that Your glory may shine forth, and You may be exalted above all! Amen!

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
