Promise of the Day: Sheep or Goat?

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Matthew 25:34 CJB:

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you whom my Father has blessed, take your inheritance, the Kingdom prepared for you from the founding of the world.'”

Devotion:

What a beautiful picture! Jesus is talking here about His glorious return, when He will separate the sheep from the goats. The right hand symbolizes authority, strength, and action, and that is where the sheep go. Right where Jesus sits by the Father. That is because, as we see in the next verses, the sheep do the will of their Father. They don’t just read about it, talk about it, or sing about it. They do it. Just as Jesus did before them, loving those around Him by feeding them, healing them, and teaching them truth. Our Good Shepherd showed us the way to His right hand. All that remains is for us to follow. I don’t know about you, but I want to be a sheep.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I eagerly await that glorious day! But, until then, help me hear and obey the voice of my Shepherd each day, in Jesus’ name. Don’t let me miss an opportunity to love, but give me a generous heart, that on that day, I may receive my inheritance. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
