Today’s Promise is Exodus 15:3: NKJV
“The Lord is a man of war; The Lord is His name.”
Devotion:
So many people today only want to focus on the warm, fuzzy aspects of God. Yet, this is the God Israel praises in this Song of Moses. The God who cuts off the enemies of His people and drowns them in the sea. Yes, our God is a good and loving Father. But as any good father, He fights for His children–and He never loses! What a comfort to know that we are so fiercely loved. Not because we are good or worthy, but simply because we are HIS! When the enemy is hot on your heels, don’t waste your time looking back at him. Look up! And know that the Lord is a man of war!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, what a privilege to be called by Your name. I thank You and praise You, in Jesus’ name, that You do not leave me to fight my battles alone. That Your righteousness goes before me and Your Glory is my rearguard. I can focus on the tasks You give me, Lord, because You are a man of war. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
