Today’s Promise is 1 Peter 1:6-8 NKJV:
“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love.”
Devotion:
Having a tumor in my back and being confined to bed for well over a year was not my idea of fun. But the intimacy that trial brought me with the Lord fills me with praise and thanksgiving. That intimacy is what drives me to get out of bed every morning before the sun rises, to worship Him and seek His face. I want more! It was He who gave me the faith to endure, and I trust He will only strengthen that faith in the trials to come. I pray that He will give you the faith, not only to endure, but to rejoice in whatever trials you may be facing today, that you may draw closer to Him than ever before, and that your testimony will bring Him glory!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the fire. Thank You for loving me enough to strengthen me through trials and to show me Your infinite grace in carrying me through them each step of the way! Be glorified in me, Lord, in Jesus’ name, as I learn to praise You in all things. Amen
