Promise of the Day: More Than Enough

Trusting

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Job 10:12 CJB:

“You have granted me life and favor,
And Your care has preserved my spirit.”

Devotion:

In the first sentence of this chapter, Job says, “I am just worn out.” Have you ever felt that? I have. Job was feeling that God had only created him to abuse and torture him. You know, if it hadn’t been for Job’s ordeal and resulting testimony, I would probably feel the same sometimes. Especially on days when my “to do” list overwhelms me, but pain makes it impossible to think straight, let alone move. Poor Job had to endure to the end before he would learn that same care and grace God lavished on him from conception would be preserving his spirit until his life on earth was done. Another of God’s servants was reminded of this centuries later, when God answered him, “My grace is enough for you, for my power is brought to perfection in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). That servant was Paul.

When you are tempted to think that God has abandoned you, or has turned against you, remember Job and Paul, and how God was glorified through them, giving us testimonies of hope. Embrace your weakness and trust in God’s grace. He has a plan for you, and He will fulfill that plan if you let Him. He is more than enough.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, You know life in this fallen world isn’t easy, because Your Son lived it. I thank You for Your promises and the Comforter, pouring out Your grace into my life. Thank You for the knowledge that faith and obedience are all You require of me, and that, even when I’m bound to my bed, my prayers can change the world, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
