Today’s Promise is Acts 13:39 NKJV:
“And by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.”
Devotion:
Until the Torah became flesh, it did not have the power to wipe the slate of sinners clean, only to condemn them. The blood of the animals sacrificed to atone for their sins could never make them clean, either. Not really. Only the perfect blood of the Lamb of God could purify us and make us worthy to once more enjoy the presence of our Creator. Sadly, many professed Christians still walk under a cloud of condemnation. The grace God offers us is a gift. And, like any gift, unless it is accepted, opened, and put to use, it simply remains a pretty package. If you truly believe that Jesus gave His life, that you might have new life, it’s time to rip the wrapping off of that package, open it up, and put it on. You are a new creation in Christ, so take off those old shabby clothes and put on the righteousness of Christ! You have work to do, and Jesus has qualified you to do it.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the robe of righteousness You have given me though Your precious Son. Help me put off the old, dirty rags of my past, in Jesus’ name, and walk fully in the new life You have given me. Burn my old garments up in Your Holy Fire, Lord, that I may never again return to them. Help me live a life that glorifies You. Amen.
