Today’s Promise is Philippians 3:21 CJB:
“He will change the bodies we have in this humble state and make them like his glorious body, using the power which enables him to bring everything under his control.”
Devotion:
Some believers struggle with self-control all their lives, thinking this promise is for some future date when Christ returns, and we get new bodies. But Jesus overcame all weakness and infirmity when He rose from the dead. He has been given all power and authority over all things–including our flesh. He has given this same authority to those who believe. We no longer have to be slaves to alcohol, drugs, food, or any other destructive force if we trust Him to change our minds and our bodies, down to our very chemistry. Our very DNA. We only have to want Him more than we want anything else, press in to Him, and make time with Him a priority in each day. I’ve seen it in others. I’ve experienced it myself. Haven’t you waited long enough for your makeover?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are exalted as Head over all! I surrender to Your sovereignty, Lord, as You remake me, filling me with Your glory until You are all that can be seen in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
