Promise of the Day: Trusting

Trusting

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Psalm 23:1 CJB:

Adonai is my shepherd; I lack nothing.”

Trusting

Devotion:

This is probably one of the most often recited Psalms in the Word. But how many of us truly believe what it says? How many of us live like a well-loved, well-cared-for lamb, trusting that our Good Shepherd will meet our every need, if we only follow Him? When I find myself stressing over circumstances or striving to achieve, I know I have been led astray by the wolf in sheep’s clothing. The one who wants nothing more than to steal my peace. The moment I recognize I’m not where I’m supposed to be, I have to stop and call out to my Shepherd. He’s always nearby, ready to carry me back. Back to the peaceful green pastures where He feeds me. Back to the still, living waters, where I can drink freely, and I want for nothing.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, You are my shepherd. By Your Spirit alone can I dwell in Your peace and contentment. Fill me with Your Spirit in Jesus’ name, and help me to walk as Your lamb. Building my faith day by day, until I no longer heed the voice of the enemy. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
