Promise of the Day: Plug in the Oven

Plug in the Stove

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Philippians 2:1-2 CJB:

Therefore, if you have any encouragement for me from your being in union with the Messiah, any comfort flowing from love, any fellowship with me in the Spirit, or any compassion and sympathy, then complete my joy by having a common purpose and a common love, by being one in heart and mind.

Devotion:

In the garden, before He went to the Cross, Jesus prayed fervently that we would be one as He is one with the Father. Paul knew the health of the Church depended on them learning to be of one heart and mind. One. Why then, do we have so many different denominations with so many different beliefs? Because Satan knows that to divide is to conquer, and nothing divides more than religion. Religion is what happens when the Holy Spirit is displaced by the will of man. Since the power source of the church is Jesus himself, this amounts to unplugging an oven, then wondering why the food is so cold.

The one heart and mind that we are to one in is Jesus’, and His alone. Unity in any body of believers can only come when all hearts are surrendered to Him, the true Head of the Church, and directed by His Spirit. The method, as Christ himself demonstrated, is prayer, and the motivation, also demonstrated by Jesus, is love. In essence, the family that prays together (in the Spirit), stays together.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I repent on behalf of all of us who have compromised Your Body, by rebelling against Your Son, our King, and pushing our own agendas, individually and collectively. Father, please forgive us, in Jesus’ name. Rid us of the spirit of division and unify us in Your Spirit, that Your power and glory may flow through us freely, bringing Your Kingdom to earth. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
