Promise of the Day: Prepare Ye the Way

Prepare Ye the Way

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Luke 10:1 NKJV:

“After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.”

Prepare Ye the Way

Devotion:

This may not seem like a promise, but take a closer look. The key is in the number 70. Seventy is a number signifying Spiritual Completeness (7) multiplied by Divine Order (10). So then, 70 signifies “perfect spiritual order carried out with all spiritual power and significance.” (E.W. Bullinger). Now look at the end of the verse. “Where He Himself was about to go.” Jesus was prophesying over His disciples (you and me), that when the Spirit urges us to step out and minister to people (not preach at or condemn, but minister to) it’s because He’s about to show up! That gives a whole new meaning to the line, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord!” don’t you think?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me everything I need to fulfill Your Great Commission! And thank You for not leaving me to do this alone, but for giving me Your Spirit to guide and empower me, and for sending Jesus to complete the work. Help me trust your leading and step out in boldness, Lord, in Jesus’ name.  Amen!

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
