Promise of the Day: Pride vs. Humility

Reviled and Blessed

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Proverbs 11:2 CJB:

“First comes pride, then disgrace; but with the humble is wisdom.”

Reviled and Blessed

Devotion:

Pride demands, “What about me?”

Humility asks, “What will glorify God?”

God is the source of all wisdom, which is why His Son is called the Light off the World. Apart from Him there is only darkness and the disgrace of a fallen nature. The bride of Christ is symbolized in the Word by the moon, because we were created, not to shine our own lights, but to reflect God’s glory on the earth, that all eyes might turn to Him. When we put Jesus above ourselves, He is more than capable of lifting us up into His glory. Permanently.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help me to die to myself more each day, in Jesus’ name, that You might increase. And that others might see You and live. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
