Promise of the Day: The Real Battle

Out of This World

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Psalm 108:12, 13 NKJV:

Give us help from trouble,
For the help of man is useless.
Through God we will do valiantly,
For it is He who shall tread down our enemies.”

Devotion:

It’s natural to seek support from other people when we are under attack. Unfortunately, what we are usually seeking from others is sympathy, which is utterly useless in battle. What we need in times of trouble are prayer warriors. David was a warrior. He knew that even with legions of soldiers behind him, the battle was ultimately the Lord’s. He also knew that praise and worship were the greatest weapons in his arsenal, as we read earlier in this chapter. That is because, in spite of how things look, our enemies are not flesh and blood, but spirit. And nothing unleashes the Holy Spirit or the angelic hosts, like worshiping God. When we take our eyes off ourselves and the people the enemy uses to waylay us, and focus instead on our awesome, mighty God, we become invincible!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, King of kings, and Lord of lords, You alone are worthy of my praise! You are sovereign, and You have put all my enemies under Your feet! You are mighty to save and You are faithful to deliver! Regardless of how I feel or how things look, I will stand on this truth, and I will exalt Your Holy Name! Amen, and Amen!

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
