Today’s Promise is Deuteronomy 1:8 NKJV:
“See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give to them and their descendants after them.”
Devotion:
Before God ever formed us in the womb, He created for us a purpose and destiny. For some, this is conquering and possessing physical territory for the Kingdom of God. For others it may be taking down dominions in high places to win family, churches, or even nations for the Kingdom. It is vital to our success that we not assume anything about our calling, but seek the One who created our calling for guidance and direction and, most importantly, timing. As we read in verse 6, the people had been camped at Mt. Horeb for some time before God released them to possess the Promised Land. What were they doing at Mt. Horeb? Being reminded of who God is and what He had done for them, receiving more training and direction, and receiving their appointed territories. As it is God who calls us out of bondage, it is God who equips us to fulfill the destinies He has called us into. But before all else, we are called to learn to wait on the Lord, submitting to His sovereignty as He prepares us to possess the land. Never grow weary of waiting on the Lord, for He is faithful.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, sometimes it seems like I wait on you for ages in silence. But I choose to trust in Your timing, knowing that I do not wait alone or in vain. You are there, preparing me, strengthening my faith, developing my spiritual senses. I believe, Father, every word You have spoken into my life, and every promise in Your Word. I renounce the spirit of discouragement, and call forth Your Spirit of peace in Jesus’ name! Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
