Today’s Promise is Proverbs 22:9 NKJV:
“He who has a generous eye will be blessed,
For he gives of his bread to the poor.”
Devotion:
One of the most difficult concepts for believers to take hold of (myself included) is that our ability to give to others is not dictated by our resources. The storehouses of Heaven are loaded and overflowing, just waiting for willing distributors to spread the wealth. Truly, in the economy of Heaven, the more we give, the more we receive. It is the spirit of mammon that keeps us focused on our own resources and concerned about “not having enough.” We must renounce the spirit of mammon and come into agreement with the Spirit of Abundance if we are to gain access to the storehouses of Heaven. Then, we must see with bountiful eyes, taking every opportunity to share the wealth.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please open my eyes to the realities of Heaven, in Jesus’ name. I repent of and renounce the spirit of mammon that I have allowed to operate in my life, in Jesus’ mighty name! I have been born of Your Spirit, and You are a generous God. Please, help me walk in the Spirit of Abundance, that I may pour out Your blessings on those in need. Help me to remember the PIN to Your bank account and not limit my giving to my earthly balance. Amen.
