Today’s Promise is Psalm 50:4, 5 NKJV:
“He shall call to the heavens from above,
And to the earth, that He may judge His people:
‘Gather My saints together to Me,
Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.'”
Devotion:
We may no longer sacrifice animals to the Lord, but being a true child of God still requires sacrifice. In fact, many would prefer sacrificing a bull calf to what is required of us today. Today we must sacrifice our pride, our will, the lusts and desires of the flesh–our lives. Many want the privilege of being a child of God, but very few are willing to pay the price. “Many are called, but few are chosen.” Matt. 22:14. You have been called. Will you be chosen?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I know You have called me. Help me to seek You with all my strength, in Jesus’ name, that I may know You better each day and desire You even more. Send Your Holy Spirit to turn my heart away from the world and set it on You. Amen.
