Today’s Promise is 2 Corinthians 7:10 NKJV:
“For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.”
Devotion:
The world doesn’t like to hear that they are sinners. It makes them feel bad, and the world today is all about feeling good. What they don’t realize is that the guilt and sorrow that comes with the conviction of the Holy Spirit is the very thing that saves lives. When we respond to the pain of conviction with humility, asking God for forgiveness, our Father stands ready to forgive us and replace our sorrow with joy. A joy that lasts for all eternity. Reacting in anger and pride leads only to destruction.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please help me to submit to Your correction and humble myself, in Jesus’ name, that I might know Your eternal joy and peace. And thank You for such a wonderful gift! Amen.
