Today’s Promise is Psalm 91:1 CJB:
“He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his truth is a shield and protection.”
Devotion:
When you are committed to seeking the Lord and fulfilling His purpose for your life, you can be sure the enemy will do everything in his power to distract you, knock you off course, or make you give up altogether. And he knows just where to strike. I know he does with me.
It’s in these attacks that our faith is either fortified or broken. With time and practice, I have learned to keep my focus on God, so that these attacks have less and less of an impact on me. In fact, in my alone time with the Lord every morning, He will warn me of coming attacks and their nature. Forewarned is forearmed. It’s as if He is saying, “This is your next challenge. Will you trust me enough to remain obedient?” Meditating on this promise, visualizing God’s mighty wing covering me when the enemy and his agents rage against me, has helped me remember where my power lies, strengthening my faith. It will do the same for you.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are my Rock and my Salvation. My Strong Tower and my Refuge. This is the Truth, and I choose the stand on it, in Jesus’ name! I know trials are part of Your plan to grow my faith and spiritual maturity, and I want to grow. So, help me keep my eyes on You, Lord, and stay the course You have set before me. For You have already secured my victory. Amen.
