Blessings!
Today’s Promise is 1 Corinthians 14:3 CJB:
“But someone prophesying is speaking to people, edifying, encouraging and comforting them.”
Devotion:
The enemy would have people believe that prophecy is no longer active in the Church. But in war, what is one of the first things an army does to undermine the enemy? They cut the lines of communication. God has always spoken to His people through prophets and in these last days prophecy is on the rise as was promised in Joel 2:28. The problem is knowing the difference between false and true prophecy takes time and work, which most people aren’t willing to do. It’s easier to label something as false or evil than to do what it takes to develop discernment.
God is speaking to us today, and it may not be what we want to hear, but it will never contradict His written Word, and it will always be for the good of His Body. The gift of prophecy is very much alive and available to every believer through the Holy Spirit. But don’t take my word for it. Go to the Source and “seek to prophesy!” If not for your sake, for the sake of His Church.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of prophecy. I repent, Lord, for any and all times I have doubted this gift in myself and others, and I bind and rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus! Lord, I want to hear what you are saying. I want to bless Your Church and further Your Kingdom on earth. Teach me to wait on You, Lord, and learn Your voice, grant me a spirit of discernment, and let me speak Your truth with all boldness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
