Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Joshua 1:9 NKJV:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Devotion:
I love this promise God makes to His people as they are about to take possession of the territory He has given them. Notice that it is prefaced with a command. There were giants in this territory! Big, mean, giants! God had already given this territory to His people, and they had His full protection. But how do you convince your trembling knees of this when you’re staring down a giant? God tells them how. He tells them to meditate on His Torah day and night. The more we practice God’s presence through prayer and the Word, the more tangible He becomes. It’s easy to be courageous when you know your bodyguard is standing right behind you. The faith in this promise is what gives us our strength and courage, making obedience to the command possible.
What territory has the Lord called you to take possession of?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, bring Your Word to life in me. Make me see what You see, and hear what You hear, and know with all my heart that You are with me always, in Jesus’ name! Amen!
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
