Today’s Promise is Psalm 32:1 CJB:
“How blessed are those whose offense is forgiven,
those whose sin is covered!“
Devotion:
It is truly a blessing to have our sin blotted out of existence. In fact, it is almost incomprehensible. To be free from debt and given a clean slate. Just as incomprehensible, to humans at least, is extending that same forgiveness to those who hurt us. In fact, apart from the power of the Holy Spirit, it is not possible. But we do have the power of the Holy Spirit, and Jesus has told us that this promise is dependent on our doing just that. Forgiving others as He has forgiven us. Forgiveness is one gift that is meant to be shared–lavishly.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please help me remember the sacrifice You made for me, when others hurt me. Holy Spirit, grant me the grace to forgive as I have been forgiven, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
