Today’s Promise is John 16:33 CJB:
“I have said these things to you so that, united with me, you may have shalom [peace]. In the world, you have tsuris [tribulation]. But be brave! I have conquered the world!”
Devotion:
It is impossible to focus on the world and not get caught up in all its hype and negativity. That’s why I don’t read or watch the news. I read the Good News. Jesus overcame the world, and everything He has said He will do He will do. Nothing and no one can prevent this, so anything that contradicts His Word is a lie. If we want to experience perfect peace, we must determine to remain centered within the Prince of Peace, viewing the world through His eyes. He not only knows the end of the story–He wrote it.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being my Prince of Peace. I believe You have it all under control. Help me keep my eyes on You, in Jesus’ name, so I won’t get distracted by the turmoil of the world. Amen.
