Today’s Promise is Haggai 2:6-9 NKJV:
“For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”
Devotion:
We are just beginning to witness this great shaking. It’s not a question of if we will be shaken, but when. Like a miner shaking the rubble to reveal precious metals, so God is shaking creation from top to bottom to reveal His precious stones with which He will build up the most glorious temple the world has ever seen. A people so filled with His radiant glory, the nations will know without a doubt that God reigns. He is testing His Church, sorting the goats from the sheep. He is asking, “Whom will you trust? Man or ME?” How is your footing? Are you trusting in God to see you through? Will you be a holy stone in the Temple of God?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I don’t want to wait until everything around me is crumbling to be tested. Test me now, in Jesus’ name, that my faith may grow and be rooted deep in the foundation of Jesus Christ. Refine me now, Lord, that I may stand firm, a holy vessel to carry Your presence and glory. Amen.
